The Rumpus Project

Since forever, I've wanted to write a story like Baccano! I'd like it to take place in my world and be basically a wild and crazy ride with some of my favorite characters, new and old. I want it told completely out of order with the characters tying the whole thing together. So, To get started on this, I've decided to do character profiles for all my characters and post them here. Here's what I'm working on...

Rumpus Ideas To Blend
  1. A group of disenfranchised thaumaturges decides to overthrow the Council and try to gather as many allies as possible for the feat.
  2. One person's never-ending journey for immortality, true immortality, and the sacrifices made along the way
  3. Magenta, Porfirio's barista, wants to have the perfect wedding
  4. The Council investigates a possible insurrection against them, trying to find the ringleaders and punish them for their disloyalty.
  5. A girl undergoes a transformation from human to not quite human without knowing how or why, but others do know and they're hunting her
  6. A person thinks they're an ordinary human who happens to have extraordinary friends, then they find out they have the amazing ability to not die
  7. A select group of people discover the last of a destructive race has been hidden as a human for years. They aim to find this being and destroy it before it destroys the world

All these men are the same person. Savvy? So, I've reviewed a Doctor Who  episode, and I've gone over all the cool things I absolutely love  about various other shows and at some point I usually end up bringing up Doctor   Who  because it is one of my all-time favorite TV series out there. Adaptions

Books have a disease that cannot be cured.  The disease grows every year.  It has ruined many books but some books rise above this disease and seem to take on a life of their own.  These books are obviously wonderful. What is this disease? Well, if you've read the title of the blog, you'll know it's adaptions, as in book-to-movie adaptions.  Now, this isn't a horrible, horrible disease.  As I've said, sometimes the book manages to rise above the adaption and remain a great book that people read.  Other books... fall by the wayside and are forgotten while the adaption lives on usually tainting the modern view of said book beyond repair. Today I saw an adaption of a book, S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders .  Now, the book itself is pretty interesting because it was published when S.E. Hinton was fifteen which is an amazing accomplishment.  More amazing because very few people write anything worth publishing at fiften let alone something that becom...

Doctor Who: The Time Meddler

A new  alien! In the past!  This is the last serial of Season Two of Doctor Who . It's also the first episode in some time in which we have someone of the Doctor's race since Susan Foreman left the show in the second serial of this season. It's also the first serial where someone of the Doctor's race is the villain . In the last episode we had a time traveling group of aliens trying to kill one time traveling alien and his crew. This episode is about a time travelling alien trying to change history while the other tries to preserve it. ... Or I assume that's what happens. This serial originally aired in four parts between July 3 and July 24 1965. Let's hope it does a credit to a season that has, thus far been a mix between lack-luster and boring and pretty darn interesting and even comedic at times. Two Hours Later ... Soo.... this serial....
