Career/Past Careers: Tom used to work for Porfirio until the creep raped him that one time. Just because it was pleasant doesn't mean he would've agreed to it if he hadn't been given a potion. Now, he works for the Council as a low-level grunt trying to change it from within to help people more than control information.

Dreams/Life Goals: Tom dreams of a world where he doesn't have to worry about his family because they can either take care of themselves or the world will help take care of them by working for the betterment of everyone. He dreams of a Council that helps people by giving the right information out rather than trying to keep information close it its chest. He'd also like to be able to practice magic out in the open without the veil keeping people from seeing or remembering it.

Hobbies: Tom enjoys reading fantasy novels and taking inspiration from them for works of magic. He keeps a pet Labrador Retriever named Gypsy who he dotes on constantly and constantly trains to do more and more elaborate tricks. He can also sew passably well and he likes going to rock concerts for his favorite bands.

Likes: Rock music, especially AC/DA and Motley Crüe, He enjoys the look and sound of thunder and lightning even though it scares the pants off Gypsy, the feel of the wind through his utter lack of hair, watching anime and old scifi movies.

Loves: Besides hanging out with his dog, Gypsy, Tom also loves spending time with his family. loves to play chess. Tom loves playing video games. Tom loves catching people off-guard with pranks or magic.

Dislikes: Spaghetti and meat sauce. It looks like brains and vomit to him. He doesn't like the Council as it exists today. He doesn't like cheese pizza because it's too plain for him. Tom doesn't like the name Tom because J.K. Rowling named a character after him who hated the name for being plain.

Loathes: Tom hates Minerva because of what she did to his family through her manipulations and magic. He despises Porfirio because he raped him that one time. He really loathes Richard O'Brien for convincing Ellie that she killed him.

Fears: Tom is afraid of Porfirio, The Mother, Tempus and beings like them who can do whatever they want with impunity.

Strengths: Tom is mentally a pretty strong person. He's good at planning. He is very patient. He isn't afraid to do bad things for a good result.

Weakness: Tom is only human. He doesn't always show the best judgment, and he often loses sight of things when he's bogged down by personal things.

Good Qualities: Tom doesn't drink, smoke, do drugs, or have a single tattoo. He joined the Council to change it for the better from the inside.

Bad Habits: Tom tends to think of things as chess pieces when he thinks about things in a very emotional atmosphere. He's also a bit of a nail-biter.

Turn Ons: Tom is attracted to short blondes with pretty eyes and high intelligence. He likes women who are close to their family as well.

Turn Offs: Tall brunettes remind him of his older sister, Ellie. Especially if they're bossy or they have brown or green eyes. He also doesn't like people who act like their family is scum. The color purple puts him off as well for its own reasons.

Normal Talents: Tom is very good with numbers to the point he doesn't need to use a calculator. He's good at chess. He's also one of the more patient people in the world.

Supernatural Powers & Abilities: Tom is capable of manipulating light with his mind to create solid balls of light that he can use for fun or to throw at people and shock the crap out of them. Tom's also a fair hand at other forms of magic and thaumaturgy.

Temperament: Tom is steady, patient and mentally strong. He is a planner who thinks things out in the long term very easily. He can allow his emotions to rule him at times, but he's not afraid to make the tough decisions when he has to.

Background: Tom was born the second child and only son of Elisabeth "Beth" and Frank Brown. He's the younger brother of Ellie Brown and older brother of Sylvia Brown. Unlike Ellie, he was the apple of his parents' eye, the only boy. He grew up getting whatever he wanted and knowing about magic along with his sister, Sylvia. His first memory was using a ball of light to light up his bedroom because he was scared of the dark. His second memory was the day Ellie no longer believed in magic after a particularly horrible fight with their mother.

Tom grew up knowing magic existed and knowing that there was a governing body over magic called the Council of Magic. However, he quickly learned that the Council of Magic wasn't all it was cracked up to be. He also learned that magic from his grandma along with potions and some basic rituals. As a teenager, he got a job running errands for Porfirio, but once he hit adulthood, a particularly bad event happened that turned him from Porfirio forever. Porfirio gave Tom a potion to make him a willing participant in sex and then took advantage of him.

Since then, Tom has worked for the Council. He tells them he wants to bring Porfirio down, but really he's using the traumatic event as a springboard to get into the Council. His plan is to infiltrate the Council and change it for the better from the inside. Perhaps create a team of thaumaturges to take the whole thing over, or at least the North American chapter.
